How it works

From setlist to stage in four steps

Set it up once before the gig. On stage, all you do is pick the song.

  1. Setlist screen with five songs, their keys and an energy curve
    01

    Build your setlist

Add or import your songs, then set the order, key and tempo for the night.

  2. Stage lobby showing the join code PQJ9SY
    02

    Start the stage

Choose online or Wi‑Fi. Maestrom creates a six‑character join code.

  3. Join screen with the code boxes and instrument choices
    03

    Your band joins

Musicians enter the code and pick their instrument. Latecomers can join anytime.

  4. Live screen with the chord chart and the cue buttons
    04

    Go live

Double‑tap a song and it opens on every screen at once. Cues and key changes follow.

Two ways to connect

Rehearse online.
Play on the mixer’s Wi‑Fi.

Pick how the stage connects when you start it. Your band joins the same way either way.

Rehearsals

Online

Musicians join from anywhere — different networks, mobile data, even from home for a remote rehearsal.

Start stage dialog with the Internet and WiFi options
Live gigs

Wi‑Fi

Everyone on the same Wi‑Fi, like the router on the mixing desk. No internet needed, and the delay stays tiny.

On stage

Lead the show
without shouting over it

Every call you used to make with your voice now takes a single tap.

Live cues

Seven cue buttons under your fingers. One tap and the cue flashes on every musician’s screen.

One key for the band New

Change the key or tempo once and every screen follows. Personal key turns only your own screen.

Preview, then go live

A single tap previews. A double tap goes live. No accidental song changes mid‑show.

Add songs on stage New

Got a request? Add it from your library and it reaches the band instantly.

If a connection drops

Maestrom tries to reconnect on its own. Once it’s back, the musician returns to the song that’s live.

For every musician

Everyone reads the song their way

Same song, same key, same moment — but each musician picks the view that fits their instrument.

Lyrics + Chords

Chords sit above the lyrics, for those who sing and play.

Chords Only

A clean bar‑by‑bar chart with sections and repeats.

Lyrics Only

Big, bold lyrics a vocalist can read from a step back.

Drums New

Drummers write their own grooves and read them on stage.

Writing songs

Every view has its own editor

Write lyrics and chords line by line, the chart bar by bar, the groove step by step. One song, ready in all four views.

Lyrics + Chords editor with chords above the lines and the stage tools

Lyrics and chords, line by line

  • Tap a line, put the cursor on the syllable and pick the chord from the palette below.
  • Stage tools add a cue, repeat, chorus, solo or final mark under the line.
  • Keep separate notes for guitar, vocals, bass, drums and keys.
Chords Only editor with the bar grid and the chord palette

The chart, bar by bar

  • Tap a beat, choose the root and the type: m, 7, maj7, m7b5, sus4, slash bass.
  • Repeat signs, simile %, D.S. al Coda and time signatures from 2/4 to 12/8.
  • Add, duplicate and reorder sections; undo and redo every step.
Lyrics Only editor with plain-text verse lines

Lyrics as plain text

  • Edit the lyrics like any text: type, split and join lines.
  • Chords stay on their syllables when lines move.
  • On stage the vocalist gets big, readable lyrics.
The same groove in drum notation
Drum editor with the step grid and the drum tools

The groove, step by step New

  • Tap steps on hi-hat, snare, kick, crash, ride and tom rows.
  • Accents, ghost notes, flams, open hi-hat and fills on the same grid.
  • Pick the resolution and the time signature; flip between grid and notation.

No need to start from scratch

  • Paste a chord chart

Paste text from anywhere; chords, bars and repeats are picked up and the lyrics are dropped.

  • Chart from lyrics

Build the bar chart from the chords already in your lyrics.

  • Transpose

Move the whole song to a new key; chords are spelled right for that key.

  • Import

iReal Pro, MusicXML and Maestrom files. See every import option

Solo Stage

Solo Stage, for when you play alone

No live session, no connection. Open your setlist in Solo Stage and each song comes up in order, in its own key and tempo.

  • Setlist and song

Switch between the list and the song or jump from the strip at the top; on a tablet, both side by side.

  • Key, tempo, metronome

Each song opens in the key and tempo set in your setlist, with the metronome on screen.

  • All four views

Lyrics + Chords, Chords Only, Lyrics Only or Drums, with guitar and piano diagrams.

  • Pick up where you left off

The screen stays on, and Maestrom remembers the song you stopped at.

Made for solo singers, piano and guitar-vocal sets, rehearsal and practice.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Do my musicians need to pay?

No. Musicians join free with a Maestrom account. Only the person who leads the stage may need Pro, and only once they outgrow the free limits.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Choose Wi‑Fi when you start the stage and everyone connects over the same local network — the router on the mixing desk is enough. Your songs and setlists are stored on your device.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone, iPad, Android phones and Android tablets. One stage can mix all of them.

How do I get my songs in?

Type them in the editor, paste a chord chart, or import from iReal Pro (playlists can become setlists), MusicXML or a Maestrom file someone shared with you. You can also download song packs from Explore.

Can each musician see the song differently?

Yes. Everyone picks their own view — Lyrics + Chords, Chords Only, Lyrics Only or Drums — and can use a personal key without changing the band’s key.

What if a connection drops mid‑song?

Maestrom tries to reconnect on its own; once the connection is back, the musician returns to the song that’s live. Musicians who arrive late can join at any time.

Where is my data stored?

Your songs and setlists live on your device. During a stage they’re shared with the musicians who joined — over the local Wi‑Fi, or through our servers when you play online. See the Privacy Policy for details.
